Aloha, Hawaii! A few weeks ago, the mister and I took a much needed vacation to the islands. It’s been one heck of a first year of marriage and although we had the time to cross the pond and explore Europe, we thought maybe a simple week at the beach was just what we needed. And that it was. This outfit was easy and breezy, which tended to be a theme on the trip. I wore this skirt on our long flight home too, I loved it. This was a great look for our boat trip. The skirt had buttons all the way down the front, so I could unbutton it to remove which kept it sand-free, and also was nice to have it blow in the wind. Of course the hat was much needed. The sun in Hawaii is strong!
I had never been to Hawaii, so I wasn’t sure what to expect besides a tropical paradise. However, we found out quickly that the landscape in Maui had many surprises for us. Because of the time change, I felt like we were living the way humans are meant to live. Up with the sun, down with the sun. We’d wake up around 5:30AM every day, walk to Starbucks, make breakfast and then hit the beach.
We stayed at the K’annapali Ali’i resort, which was perfect. They have spacious beachfront condos at similar prices to the various hotels, yet we could grocery shop, cook meals in our full kitchen and have daily housekeeping. The pool was recently updated, and although they don’t serve drinks poolside, we made our own tropical beverages and saved a ton of money!
We planned a few day trips so that we could experience all the island had to offer and soon I’ll share more about the Road to Hana, a snorkeling excursion to Lanai and a trip to a crater that reminded me of the moon!
Have a great week friends!
