Hydrafacial at Plastic Surgery Texas - A Pilot's Wife

A Day At Plastic Surgery Texas

*Services were provided free of charge by Plastic Surgery Texas, but all opinions are my own!

Summer is coming to an end and with each new season I always get the bug to refresh. Refresh my life, my home and myself! I believe every woman deserves a day of pampering and self-care. So often we spend our time focused on our family and our work that we forget we are important too!

Given I was definitely ready for a day of pampering,  I visited Plastic Surgery Texas, a Med Spa with the sweetest, caring staff who are incredibly knowledgeable about skin care. The office is beautiful, welcoming, clean and smells amazing.

A few weeks ago, I met with Dr. Anderson and his staff to discuss a few of my skin concerns and when they told me about the Hydrafacial, a 30-minute facial that would refresh and protect my skin, I scheduled an appointment right away.

The Hydrafacial, with Jana, definitely exceeded my expectations. First, Jana gave me a skin complexion analysis which looked at skin spots, wrinkles, pore size, redness, UV and Brown Spots. It was no surprise that my trouble area was UV Spots As a teen, I was a sun-seeker. My free time was always spent at the beach or the pool. Now I know better and it’s time to protect myself properly.

Next, Jana walked me through the six steps of  the Hydrafacial and included essential oils which helped me to relax, enjoy and be in the moment. The first half of the facial includes, exfoliation, a peel (which doesn’t cause scaling!) and extraction (which was painless-and who doesn’t want painless!?). Then Jana used the Pigment Brightening treatment on my skin – a boost that targets my specific skin concerns. Finally, the fusion step nourishes and protects my skin with antioxidants, peptides and Hyaluronic Acid. Finally, step six is the one I’m responsible for.  I was sent home with great products to maintain the results of my Hydrafacial by cleansing my skin properly and protecting it with sunscreen.

I’m most excited to try Dr.Anderson’s MDEthics Cleanser and Anti-Aging Serum. I’ve not used many anti-aging treatments, but as each year passes my wrinkles get more visible. This serum will definitely help to keep them at bay. As I said before, sunscreen is a MUST. One of the tips I learned today is that although makeup with sunscreen sounds like a good idea, it is actually not. Often times the sunscreen has been diluted and may not be as effective as using a sunscreen and place a foundation or powder on top. Jana recommended I try elta md skincare Facial Sunscreen. It has a light tint, which will provide a bit of coverage, but a lot of protection. Finally, did you know that eye cream should be applied under your eyes and up to your brow bone!? Me either. Jana was full of good skin care advice.

I know I’ll definitely be returning to Plastic Surgery Texas for a Hydrafacial. It’s the perfect treatment after a vacation to dry areas or if you are a frequent flyer, this treatment can definitely help with the dryness you may experience.
